OrthoView specification
OrthoView source data
The orthoview images are sourced from 1:50 000 scale aerial photography, of varying currency, which has been orthorectified (scale and direction corrected) using 5 metre grid digital terrain models over the major urban areas and 25 metre grid digital terrain models in other areas of NSW.
The pixel size of the image is approximately equal to 1m square on the earth surface. Colour differences may be apparent with some images. Each pixel of the image is georeferenced.
The images are mosaiced into 10km x 10km modules in ECW format. The ECW files have been joined into 1:100 000 mapping block mosaics (approx 50 km x 50km) to provide large coverage areas with reduced storage requirements.
Images are available as either
1. Compressed ECW files, cut into 10 km x 10 km modules. The following control files are provided for georeferencing the image
- Mapinfo tab file with MGA coordinates (GDA94 Datum)
- Mapinfo tab file with AMG coordinates (AGD66 Datum)
- ER Viewer ers file with AMG coordinates (AGD66 Datum)
- ER Viewer ers file with MGA coordinates (GDA94 Datum)
Each 10km x 10km module retails for $110 + $ 22 Courier delivery

2. Compressed ECW files, covering a 1: 100 000 mapping block in a continuous mosaic format. The following control files are provided for georeferencing the image
- Mapinfo tab file with MGA coordinates (GDA94 Datum)
- ER Viewer ers file with MGA coordinates (GDA94 Datum)
Each 1 : 100 000 area retails for $1100 + $22 courier delivery

Please Note
- Scanned air photo files are too large for email or floppy disc.
- Orders covering large geographic extents may require the provision of an external hard drive.
- Orthorectified imagery is stored in UTM zones.
