Scanning

Graphic Services has been at the forefront of scanning technology since the late 1980's when we purchased the first graphic arts scanner in the public service.

Our scanning services include photographs, diagrams, visual art, line drawings, maps and aerial photography. We are also implementing high-volume scanning production to enable electronic delivery of the large quantity of Lands documentation required by our customers.

Scanning in detail

Our photogrammetric scanner is specifically designed for capturing detailed images from negatives, diapositives and prints at high resolution. It has the advantage of radiometric and geometric accuracy, which is needed for a high-quality reproduction of the image. Specifically, we use the photogrametric scanner for building the Lands library of aerial images, which can then be used for aerial and mapping products.

Our scanning products include:

  • Topographic aerial images
  • Property aerial images
  • Digital mosaics
  • High resolution aerial image library
  • Low resolution online aerial image library

Large format documents and plans

We are highly skilled and experienced in scanning large format documents and plans which we provide to customers as a high resolution digital copy that can be used in an online environment or stored for recording purposes.
