Photolab
From a traditional role of film-based aerial photography and film products, today we are also supporting digital aerial imagery through scanning and output to digital printers.
All photolab analog products are created using the traditional photographic process with professional exposure and development onto media such as bromide paper. Our digital products are largely derived from images residing on a central spatial database within Lands.
Aerial black and white prints and enlargements
Black and white prints are ordered from old black and white photographs dating back as far as the 1940's. Customers request the size required for their aerial photograph and our operators will enlarge the image (if requested) and reproduce the photograph onto black and white bromide paper.
Aerial colour prints and enlargements
We process all Lands aerial photographs from across the State and produce colour aerial prints ('contact proofs') for display at Lands aerial photography distribution points. Our customers - ranging from primary producers to corporations - then use the contact prints to define their photograph requirements and order their reprints. As with black and white printing, customers can dictate the size of the reproduction. All colour prints and enlargements are produced on high quality colour bromide paper.
Aerial diapositives
Diapositives are a positive film image created from an original aerial negative. These are largely used for scanning reproduction, however, with the acquisition of our photogrammetric scanner, we can now reproduce images directly from the original negative.
