Graphic Services
Graphic Services provides an array of services for the Department of Lands and Commercial Clients from its six operational areas, these include printing high quality maps and other printed products up to 930 x 1280mm.
Aerial Photos and enlargements, scanning and digital printing of plans, maps and documents up to a width of 1300mm, conservation binding and print finishing services are also available.

Pre press
Our pre press area handles the graphic design and set up of printing jobs - including plate production. Thanks to our new computer-to-plate (CTP) workflow system, we have the ability to produce proofs and plates in under an hour - all with computer-controlled colour management to ensure that what you see on the proof is what you get on the finished product. We also provide a number of softcopy and hardcopy products including scanning, digital prints and CD production.
Printing
Our lithographic printing centre in Bathurst has the capacity to print large and small format colour jobs as well as black and white laser printing. With our new full-colour large format printing press operating at a maximum printing speed of 12000 sheets per hour, we have the technology to handle challenging customer deadlines.
Print finishing
Whatever print finishing is required for your print job - whether it be trimming, folding, collating, or binding - our print finishing area has the skill and expertise to make sure it is done right the first time. We also specialise in hand restoration binding, laminating, framing and mounting of Lands maps and records.
Photolab
To support the role of Lands in defining New South Wales, our photolab produces all of the aerial photography products for the department. This includes colour photographic prints from the aerial negatives, diapositives (clear film colour positive image), and black and white prints and photographic enlargements (colour and black and white). Recently, we have also increased our capacity for high quality scanning of documents, plans, projects, and images.
Conservation binding
The primary function of conservation binding is the restoration of old plans and documents and the binding of titles and plans into volumes. In addition, this area provides short-run digital printing and stationery distribution services for Lands.
Resources and map dispatch
With the large volumes of maps and printed products produced by Lands, our resources and map dispatch area has the considerable task of providing storage and dispatch solutions to meet the needs of our internal and external customers. All of our mapping products are stored by resources and map dispatch until required by our map sales teams in Sydney and Bathurst.
Scanning
Graphic Services has been at the forefront of scanning technology since the late 1980's and our scanning services include photographs, diagrams, visual art, line drawings, maps and aerial photography.
